The Café da
Canastra Region
We, from the Café da Canastra region, believe that nature and coffee production
arencomplementary by interrelation of coffee growing with the preservation of
our biodiversity, our water sources and especially our historical-cultural relations.
This is what we call Eco-cafeicultura.

By encouraging this relationship, we create better conditions for the territory,
the people and the planet. And as a result we produce conscious coffees that
transcend quality and certification standards, positively impacting the
region as a whole.

The Eco-cafeicultura farming concept involves all of us, from producers to
coffee lovers.

The Café da Canastra region is located in a transition biome between the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest
where there is a large variation of soil groups and rocky outcrops. This is reflected upon the history of its
foundation and its relationship with the terrain, which is home on Serra da Canastra’s mountaintop to the
São Francisco river spring, one of Brazil’s major waterways.

The Coffee fields are predominantly located in plainer or smooth terrain regions at altitudes varying from
800 to 1,200 meters. The average annual temperature is in the 14 to 27°C range with an average potential
rainfall of 1,461 mm.

These characteristics provide excellent physical-environmental conditions favorable to unparalleled
quality coffee production.
